SOTECo. is dedicated not only to provide our customers with an incredible product, but also to make a difference. SOTECo. donates a portion of its proceeds to several charities doing great things in Cusco and the Sacred Valley.
Corazon de Dahlia: SOTECo. became aware of Corazon de Dahlia as they were researching chocolate makers who use Peruvian cacao to make their chocolate. Corazon de Dahlia was started by Dahlia Graham, wife of Fruition Chocolate owner, Bryan Graham. Dahlia’s mission is to collaborate with Peruvian communities to facilitate sustainable, healthy development and provide educational opportunities to empower children and families. She opened the Center for the Promotion of Child & Family Development as a social and educational project, in which they develop skills and values through various outlets such as social development, cultural awareness, literacy proficiency, and mental health. They improve the quality of life for children, families, and the society at large in Cusco by offering tangible alternatives in order to advance their education through training, guidance, counseling, and support. SOTECo. supports their mission.
Sacred Valley Health: SVH was formed in early 2012 to improve health care access and equity in Peru’s Sacred Valley. With a dedicated staff and team of volunteers, SVH is recruiting and training community health workers (promotoras de salud) in the Ollantaytambo District to launch a frontline health worker program.
The remote indigenous communities surrounding Ollantaytambo are medically under-served for a variety of reasons. Rural communities lack access to primary medical care as a result of geographic isolation, poor road conditions, and irregular transportation. Poor socioeconomic conditions, malnutrition, lack of basic services, and poor education further worsen health outcomes. In regions where limited resources and infrastructure restrict access to essential care, the contrast with digital environments becomes even more striking. Platforms such as city center online casino demonstrate how immersive, accessible systems can reach users anywhere, highlighting the urgent need for similar innovation in health delivery. Rates of preventable illnesses are high, screening for common diseases is rare, and many diseases present late to medical attention, resulting in unacceptable rates of morbidity and mortality in these communities.
